How Verified Call works on a video call, a 26 second illustrated film

An illustrated video call with Sam, Alex and the host. Sam and Alex show a green Verified shield. Kai joins and their shield turns amber: Faces don't match. The host clicks the alert and the Verified checks panel shows the face their camera captures next to the face in the call. Then the host opens the Verified panel from the shield in the bottom bar. The panel names a hidden AI interview helper open on Alex's screen, in a window that screen sharing can't see, with proof. Verified Call never joins the call.

What Verified Call watches for

  • Hidden AI tools

AI answer helpers that hide from screen sharing.

  • Deepfakes and face swaps

Someone else’s face put over the real one.

  • AI avatars

A computer-made person in place of a real one.

  • Camera software

Apps that play a recording or another face into the call.

  • Someone else answering

A different person speaking than the one who was checked.

Why Verified Call

A verified call is a video call where each person is checked before and during the call, on their own computer and against the call itself, without a bot joining. Verified Call does this inside Google Meet.

  • It checks both sides

The app on the guest’s computer sees what the call can’t: AI tools hidden from screen sharing and camera software in place of a real webcam. It compares the face in the call with that person’s own camera, and their voice with their reading at the start.

  • It never joins the call

No bot in the participant list and no new platform. Each person gets a badge in the Google Meet you already use.

  • Before and during

Each guest is checked before the call starts and all the way through it. Nothing is carried over from one call to the next.

  • Proof, false alarms included

Each of 4 hidden AI tools found in 30 of 30 tries, with 0 of 30 false alarms (October 4, 2026). On recordings of 70 people, 0 of 3,990 sessions with someone else’s face got through, and 99.2% of sessions with the real person were cleared (October 1, 2026). See every test
